Tens of thousands of Indian farmers began their protest in November 2020 on Delhi's borders against three farm laws brought by the Union government. They demanded total repeal of the laws as they saw them to be leaning towards corporatization of agriculture. The ruling dispensation tried many coercive measures to dismantle the agitation. The farmers continued with great patience and determination for over a year. The movement received global solidarity. Finally, the government withdrew the laws.
